Probolinggo – The livable sanitation program within the 128th TMMD of the Probolinggo 0820 Military District Command (Kodim 0820) continues to accelerate. On Saturday (May 2, 2026), construction on the bathroom and septic tank for Halimah’s house in Sumur Hamlet, RT 14 RW 5, Brabe Village, Maron District, reached 55 percent progress.
This sanitation development is one of the non-road physical targets of the 128th Community Empowerment Program (TMMD). Halimah’s house was chosen because it currently lacks adequate toilet and restroom facilities. The family typically bathes and defecates in the river, which is quite far from their home.
Since its inception last week, the TMMD Task Force and residents have been working together to build foundations, install brick walls, and prepare drainage channels. Work is currently in the ceramic floor installation and clean water pipe installation stages.
Clear weather conditions facilitated smooth work. Materials such as cement, sand, and bricks were readily available on site, ensuring smooth distribution. The goal is for the sanitation facility to be operational before the conclusion of the 128th TMMD.
Corporal Yan Sugito, a member of the 128th TMMD Task Force, stated that sanitation development for Halimah was a priority due to its importance to the health and well-being of the beneficiary families. He stated that the 55 percent progress was on schedule.
“Today, the sanitation work on Mrs. Halimah’s house is 55 percent complete. The foundation, walls, and drainage are complete. We are now entering the flooring and plumbing installation phase. God willing, this facility will be ready for use before the closure,” said Private Yan Sugito.
Corporal Yan Sugito added that proper sanitation is crucial for preventing disease and maintaining environmental cleanliness. The task force also educated beneficiary families on how to maintain the cleanliness of the bathrooms after construction is completed.
Halimah expressed her gratitude for the assistance from the TMMD program. She explained that her family had struggled to afford a proper bathroom due to financial constraints. With this sanitation facility, her family’s daily activities will be easier and healthier.
Residents of Sumur Hamlet, RT 14, RW 5, helped with the work by bringing water, sand, and preparing food for the Task Force. This mutual cooperation strengthened the bond between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Brabe Village community.
With increasing progress, the 128th TMMD of the 0820 Probolinggo Military District Command is optimistic that all sanitation targets in Brabe Village can be completed on time and provide direct benefits to residents in need.
